Join an international outdoor business as a Technical Sales Representative (Northern UK)

Nikwax is a leading international manufacturer of aftercare products for clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment and leads the field in outstanding environmental credentials and sustainability. Nikwax received the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development.

The Role

Maintain and increase sales to accounts, by building relationships with buyers and distributors that promote the understanding of how our products and services can make their business more profitable.

  • Develop sales through designated accounts by building relationships with buyers and strengthening brand loyalty
  • Merchandise regional and national accounts to optimise sales
  • Present instore product training to independent and national stores to increase product knowledge and selling ability of sales staff
  • Prioritise time to maximise effect upon the business through efficient call plans
  • Analyse sales data to identify problems or opportunities and develop strategies to address them
  • Utilise Nikwax reporting systems to ensure effective internal communication
  • Report to the Head of HQ Sales with customer and market feedback
  • Attend Nikwax trade and consumer events when required

The Person

  • Will be personable and organised
  • Able to drive things to a conclusion
  • Be able to use own initiative to prioritise tasks
  • Understands the importance of customer service
  • Will have a logical and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Must have a full clean driving licence
  • Will have experience in sales and training
  • Have experience of the outdoor industry and related sports
  • Will be educated to A level standard or equivalent

Join an international outdoor business in a rural environment as a Warehouse Despatch Supervisor

The Role

To improve on the rate of update and improvement of Nikwax products and the rate of introduction of new products by

  • driving research and development, with an innovative, creative approach;
  • understanding the underlying chemistry behind Nikwax products, along with manufacturing methods;
  • defining, and understanding the benefits and features of existing products and materials, and how we formulate to obtain them;
  • maintaining a high standard of good lab practice, ensuring data and results are stored in accordance to laboratory policy;
  • creating project presentations and briefs for development of new and existing products;
  • designing, improving and sustaining the tests used in the lab.

The Person will be

  • creative, and imaginative with an ability to problem solve;
  • a self-starter, with the ability to systematically drive projects through to a conclusion;
  • enthusiastic about the outdoor industry and outdoor persuits;
  • great communication, and people skills;
  • educated to at least degree level or equivalent (in Chemistry, or related subject);
  • preferably experience in working in an industrial laboratory;
  • experienced in new product development processes.

The successful candidate will need their own transport, owing to our rural location.
